After a hospitalization and brush with death in Nov 2015 I feel my attitude towards my art, which is interchangeable with my life, has transcended what it used to be. All of this is a fluke, a bonus, extra, plus one where there could be zero. We're just here while we're here and that's all there is. There will come a time when I am simply not able to affect this physical world. Every day may hand can grasp a utensil is a gift. Every breath. Every tree. Even every tear is a gift to shed here. Art is a process through which the remainder of my stay can say yes I was here while I was.
