It is very rare I do a watercolor. Yet, after a trip to Berlin, deeply learning about the Berlin wall combined with pure inspiration from a visit to the Dali museum, I felt compelled to create this piece.
All my work is an attempt to show the human experience from the lens of my experience.
Russ is an Actor/Producer with a 20-year career in Film/TV/New Media in both Los Angeles & New York that ranges over many disciplines. He most recently starred 2 Nationwide Honda Commercials AND Russ is starring, as himself, in an exciting new Bravo TV STRIPPED airs Jan 16th 2018 7pm & 11;30pm! Hope you"ll watch! Russ has a strong background in scheduling, prep & on-set production. Between 1997-2010 he worked in NYC as a Production Assistant and later Assistant Director on over 40 High Budget (30mil-200mil) Studio Films & Primetime Television Shows. His favorites NY experiences being Oscar winner “Beautiful Mind” dir by Ron Howard, Oscar winner “Enchanted” dir Kevin Lima, “Hollywood Ending” dir Woody Allen, “American Gangster” dir Ridley Scott, “BrideWars” dir by the late Gary Winick, “Kate & Leopold” dir James Mangold, “Something’s Gotta Give” dir Nancy Myers, “Inside Man” dir Spike Lee & “Be Kind Rewind” dir Michell Gondry He worked on Television show such as ABC’s Life on Mars, History Channel’s “Evita Peron” & Ottoman Empire, Project Runway Season 4, Law & Order, L&O SVU, L&O CI, 30 Rock and has worked on dozens of High Budget Commercials for Fed Ex Ground, Campbell’s Soup, Victoria’s Secret, Pantene, Office Depot, John Hancock Financial & and entire I Love NY campaign. During that time in 2005 Russ both Produced his first short film “Love Sammy” and also acted in his first Studio film, “Just My Luck” allowing him to join the Screen Actors Guild. After moving to Los Angeles in 2010 he worked as a Production Coordinator for Fremantle Media N.A. until 2011 on competition games shows such as NBC/Universal’s “Catch”, G4 Network’s “Jump City” (shot in Seattle) & ABC/Disney’s “Downfall” After all the long production hours Russ turned his focus to Acting Training, Writing & Producing. He trained at many top Hollywood acting studios between 2011-2013 and during that time produced & directed the short comedy “Losing Weight is Fun” for a budget of only $200. He also wrote the short comedies “The Art of Quitting Smoking” & “LA Traffic” as well as the Feature Length Caribbean Epic Drama, “Souled” set in early 1600’s Jamaica. In 2013, after working as a Producer’s Assistant, Russ & his then partner were offer an opportunity to head the LA office of Smith X Union Print Casting and independently casted Print campaigns for Coca Cola, Adidas, Asics, Harley-Davidson, Blue Shield Insurance, Southwest Airlines & Pharmaceuticals “Rexulti” & “Savaysa”. The height of his Print career came In 2015 when he worked as a Production Supervisor/Casting Director for Adidas Volleyball & Champs Sports. In late 2015 he was hired to edit, “The Stars of the Stars” sizzle reel and pioneered a hybrid whiteboard animation/editing process that allows seemingly expensive transitions to be done extremely cheap. By capitalizing on those techniques he signed on with Technology & Marketing Ventures Inc. as a Whiteboard Animator/Video Producer. While at TMV Inc. he Produced a Library Series of Education Videos about “Empowernator June” who helps empower us to be our own superhero by harnessing the latest in cutting edge technology in easy to understand animated videos. From 2016 to the present Russ has been consistently busy in front of the camera appearing in Print campaigns for Bud Light, Lenscrafters, Mt. Siani Parks and Progressive Insurance with “Flo”. He has appeared in featured roles in the recent Films “Hail Casear” by the Coen Brothers, “Live By Night” directed by Ben Affleck and “Suburbicon" directed by George Clooney. As a Producer, Russ’ ability to draw on his experience to troubleshoot a film’s challenges during prep, his proven problem-solving skills/creative solutions on shooting days and his competence to minimize costs or absorb departments such as Casting, Location & Editing makes him a valuable commodity that equates to a significantly lower overall budget. Those talents in conjunction with his extensive contacts to exceptional below-the-line craftsman & database of 10,000 talented actors in Hollywood & New York makes him an invaluable producer and one of those little know essentials in making a Hollywood quality feature film.
