In this painting, I explored color relationships and built intense, joyful layers of saturated color with my palette knife. I was reminded of a trip to Maine watching storms rise across the Atlantic and fill the sky with their tumultuous energies. 12" x 12" oil painting on birch, with sides that are 1 1/2" deep. Part of a series of paintings I painted in my studio in Kansas City, Missouri in November of 2014
Born in Southern California, I now live with my wife in the Kansas City area. I have painted for over 15 years, showing in a variety of alternative spaces throughout the Midwest and Texas. I often work on commissions and collaborate with designers to produce specialized works for a variety of clients throughout Kansas City.
