This painting is part of a series inspired by some hiking trips with my wife. The colors and intricacy of the layers of paint mimic the experience of walking through a thickly wooded area in the summer months. I let a bit of the warm underpainting shine through with the dark silhouettes of the trees creating the composition of this painting.
Born in Southern California, I now live with my wife in the Kansas City area. I have painted for over 15 years, showing in a variety of alternative spaces throughout the Midwest and Texas. I often work on commissions and collaborate with designers to produce specialized works for a variety of clients throughout Kansas City.
