This was my very first attempt in 1991 at creating a stained glass effect using tissue paper and wax pencils. I have done several pieces prior to this with only tissue paper, but felt that details of faces was lost. That is why I chose to use tissue paper only for highlights and wax pencils for details. I further refined this process in later pieces.
Trained in fine art, illustration and graphic design, I have a versatile set of artistic styles. I began my career in art under the tutelage of my father, Kay K. Little, Sr. I developed an interest in art thanks to him. He always invited my brothers and sister to join him as he went to art shows and competitions. I learned about different media, styles of art, as well as how to speak to people in public about art and what the meaning of a particular piece was. This peaked my own creative juices and led me to start my own art and exhibit with him when I was just 15 years old. My favorite media are watercolor, wax pencils, charcoal and India ink. My early work followed in my father's footsteps and focused on south western art, featuring the Buffalo soldiers and native Americans.
