This is part of a series called "Forgotten Landscapes" This series was inspired by the ghettos in my native island of Puerto Rico. It deals with the idea of painting the life back into the spaces that have been abandoned and forgotten along with the people who inhabit them. Its makes use of bright colors and expressive line work to hint at the use of graffiti, while also revitalizing such forgotten landscapes. Each piece is painted on a floating panel, with bright orange on the back side, when hung on a wall the orange bounces of the wall creating a glow around the frame of the piece. It is actually quite beautiful.
I am an emerging artist out of Miami. I have been creating and loving art since the Fourth grade and never stopped. I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2010 and am now teaching art at several academies in Miami while Ii work on my own portfolio. My art has a energetic and urban quality to it and completely exemplifies my personality. My work is full of bright and exciting colors and typically have to do with the female soul, body and mind. I paint because I love the outlet it provides and the idea that I get to create something that never existed before.
