The inspiration for the Wild Things I. and II. series came from a Christmas/Hanukkah gift, when my brothers surprised me with hounders of digitalized pictures from of childhood. This has been a dream of mine - as a person who lives a continent away from home, I ofter miss "old times", especially the warm and fuzzy feeling of looking at pictures from "old times". So here I was, with about 250 pictures from my childhood, not knowing what I can do with them. And thus the idea born: In the Wild Things series, I'm representing us surrounded by wild animals (wild things), just as we are in "real life": living abroad, being different, or just being adults. Isolated, but at the same time, being so strongly a part of something. Understand what I mean? Or not? Shoot me an email and/or check out ritabolla.com for more info!
Enjoy and thank you for taking your time here!
Hi. My name is Rita Bolla, and I was born in Budapest, Hungary. After receiving an MFA degree from the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, I travelled and exhibited in several major cities in Europe and America. I moved to the United Stated in 2009, the choice I cherish ever since. I lived in New York City, Los Angeles, the mountains of San Bernardino, California, and recently moved Upstate New York, to the Hudson Valley area. I am looking for peace, searching for the secret symmetry within Zen and Chaos. When I'm not painting or thinking about painting, I love spending time with my family in nature, cook good food and take or teach yoga.
