This piece got its title, after I saw the sunset in Long Beach CA, when I was at Shorline Village, on the oceanfront. The view of the beautiful city nightlights and neon illumination around the harbour really struck me. It was simply magnificent!..
I created this piece during the past month, working on & off every couple of days. I had only recently begun working with metallic inks, a medium that really helped me find new directions with my particular style of stylised drawings.
My main inspiration, that beautiful view of the city of Long Beach, really stuck with me. I had wanted to create something that would have the illumination effect that I saw, but while keeping it blended into my own style of ink drawing. As with most of my drawings, it evolved each time I went back to work on it..
Hello!.. I'm Rimi, and I'm happy that you're taking the time to browse my artworks. I was an architectural technologist, until a few years ago I found my passion in mixed media ink drawings, photography and sketching. I usually work on quite a few separate pieces at the same time, as I find that my drawings & designs develop fairly randomly, each piece changing and evolving as I look it and add to it, so that by the time it's done, it's quite different to my original vision but at the same time, it just feels right (if that makes sense!..)
