Ready to Hang
Having competed my first cube drawing, I really wanted to explore how I could create a second cube, but give it a different, individually recognisable character?
Playing around with a few ideas I was first inspired by seeing an antique 1930s emerald wedding ring, so I went ahead and began working on this second cube. The rings shape gave me the idea of having a central focus point, to differentiate it from my precious cube. Also, wanting to give it the nocturnal feel, I went for the blue color scheme, using a number of different shades and metallics to give it the same layered feel of the first cube, but while keeping its geometric pattern totally different to the eye.
I wanted this drawing to be my vision of the twilight over Long Beach, with the last shards of sunlight glimmering off the city's skyline in the first moments of the night.
Please note: This piece is matted and ready to hang.
Hello!.. I'm Rimi, and I'm happy that you're taking the time to browse my artworks. I was an architectural technologist, until a few years ago I found my passion in mixed media ink drawings, photography and sketching. I usually work on quite a few separate pieces at the same time, as I find that my drawings & designs develop fairly randomly, each piece changing and evolving as I look it and add to it, so that by the time it's done, it's quite different to my original vision but at the same time, it just feels right (if that makes sense!..)
