This Welsh Abbey was started in 1201 in Denbighshire Wales. It is now in ruins. I found this interior, cold, blanched of color except for the mold growing on the walls and ceiling and a little color in the fireplace. I Thought the highly ordered architecture of the intersecting arches contrasted with the disrepair and mold showed the passage of time.
Welcome! I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio where you will find nature inspired watercolor paintings. Painting with watercolors is a subtractive process. The only light is the white of the paper. Each time the brush touches the paper light is lost. That is one of the challenges of watercolors. I'm Richard Strimple and all the work you see is done by me. I'm very much inspired by my travels and surroundings. Whenever I visit somewhere, there's always a watercolor painting that comes from that trip. I love early morning walks when the sun just comes up and the light is fabulous. I try to inject the feel of the moment into each of my watercolor paintings. Please shout if you need to know anything or if you have an idea for a watercolor painting. I would love to hear from you.
