On the intracostal waterway during the fall I watched an approaching storm and saw an Egret flying by. I went back to my studio and painted this scene. The marshes had turned brown and the water was eeirly calm reflecting the scene.

Welcome! I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio where you will find nature inspired watercolor paintings. Painting with watercolors is a subtractive process. The only light is the white of the paper. Each time the brush touches the paper light is lost. That is one of the challenges of watercolors. I'm Richard Strimple and all the work you see is done by me. I'm very much inspired by my travels and surroundings. Whenever I visit somewhere, there's always a watercolor painting that comes from that trip. I love early morning walks when the sun just comes up and the light is fabulous. I try to inject the feel of the moment into each of my watercolor paintings. Please shout if you need to know anything or if you have an idea for a watercolor painting. I would love to hear from you.
