I walk my two dogs in the fields next to my house almost every day. Early this summer rye grass was planted and it was beautiful as it turn from golden to white. Especially nice against a bright blue sky. I took several photos and this painting came from one of those.
Richard Schlicher is a self taught artist. He was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. He has worked in the finance industry for almost forty years and now straddles the art and finance worlds. While appreciating art all his life, he began painting (with oil pastels) about a decade ago. He now paints almost exclusively with oils and works in his basement studio (on an easel which he built). Richard went to DePauw University and Indiana University for his MBA. He resides in Simsbury, CT. Richard received the Barbara Morley Award for oil painting at the November, 2015 West Hartford Art League Members Juried Exhibit. He had a solo show at The Ethel Walker School in January 2016 and another show at The Underground Gallery in June, 2016.
