An abstract reflection of struggle. Illness, . Organ failure and a constant battle to recovery.

My name is Reggie Robson. I was born December 29, 1971 and grew up in the South. I studied Art History and Graphic Design at Louisiana State University. Years later I discovered a passion for helping the sick and elderly so I went on to earn a nursing degree at Alcott State University. My primary employment of nursing brought together an insight of the daily struggles and pain of patients and their families. In 2014, the tables were turned and I was diagnosed with End Stage Liver Failure. This eventually led to me being sent home with Hospice, end of life care. I put everything into proving doctors wrong and I fought to stabilize my health and eventually I regained some of my life. Including custody of my 2 children. Throughout these desperate times, I continued to use drawing as a therapeutic outlet for my emotions. Today my inspirations range from happiness and joy, to embracing the pain and despair that I felt throughout my journey. I tend to see the world through thankful eyes. My primary medium is charcoal and I enjoy exploring new ways to create interesting textures.
