The title for this piece is pretty self explanatory. What is more relaxing than an afternoon bike ride? Let alone being barefoot!
My inspiration for this painting came from the leisurely southern life in Charleston, South Carolina, where I live.
The relaxed laid back lifestyle is the way of the south and I like to capture that feeling in my work.
Rebecca is a southern girl, born and raised in South Carolina. She's been an artist, per say, for as long as she can remember; always creating in some medium or another. Her passion for art enticed her to live and study in Rome. While the lush Italian country side inspired her, it also drew her back to one of her favorite subjects, the American south. She adores painting what she knows and loves…the south, the lowcountry, and animals. She works in oils but also enjoys painting with gouache watercolor. Most recently, she has gone back to one of her original loves fashion and lifestyle illustration. You can find her painting in her upstairs studio in downtown Charleston.
