I prefer a painterly and impressionistic approach. I am getting very interested in the colors of the fauve painters, as well.
This piece was inspired by the sunset-lighting that was cast on houses along the marshland in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. We get gorgeous sunsets here and I was trying to emulate the softness created by the evening light.
The painting is gallery wrapped, meaning the painting extends to the sides, so there is no need to frame.
My name is Rebecca Masters. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I am inspired by coastal landscapes, the fauves, and Impressionist painters such as Berthe Morisot. From still-life, to landscape, to portraits, I love the translation from the creative mind to the canvas. I received my BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design.
