Ready to Hang
I chose to work with a minimal pallette and ended up using three colors for this piece and that is where the title of InBrown came from. I was home recovering from heart surgery when I created this piece and drew my motivation from desire to get back outdoors hiking in the mountains. Using a flat faced brush I've replicated the Aspens of the Mogollon Rim here in Arizona. I give to you a hint of the colors and you and your imagination do the rest. I hope that you enjoy it as I do.
Thank you for viewing my profile. It was in San Francisco when I was first introduced to photography in my early twenties. I was fortunate to have some great mentors and teachers during those years. As I've grown so has my vision. Since 2003, when I was first introduced to painting by my mentor Suzie Kahlil, I have worked with paintings in oil, acrylic, resins and other mixed media. Here is a brief art statement which I hope will present an idea of the spirit of my work. My Artist Statement talks about the collision of colors and how life is often defined by the edges and meeting of colors. Life also is found at the edges between illness and health, sadness and joy, where it creates bravery and strength and love. As an artist in this small way with my work I hope to add to this unfolding drama with a celebration of the meeting of the human body and art. I hope you enjoy this visit with me.
