Every year these pansies crop up in most of the neighborhoods on the street dividers. I eagerly wait for them and wonder if we start taking the beauties for granted.
The little violet and yellow heads clumped together finds my attention and camera, resulting in this painting.
Unlike what I am training for this is a loose style experimentation with acrylic paints on a canvas with knife work after the base painting.
My name is Ruchika Agarwal. I am an engineer by qualification but have always been an artist at heart. I grew up in Mumbai and got my engineering degree a long time ago (at-least thats how it seems). I worked well as an engineer for 15 years but managed to keep in touch with art. As a teenager I dabbled in colored charcoal, then experimented with acrylic. My latest love for sure is oil and can hardly wait to master the knife (on the canvas). It feels like I wear a multitude of hats all the time, a mom, an engineer, an athlete, a religious devotee, a teacher to my children and dream to capture special moments in some way and art does spring out as a tool that could help me snapshot those moments in my special way.
