I painted this piece because I loved the contrast of the red / orange dirt with the bright green cactus. This piece was painted in plein-air at Zion National park in Utah, USA. This piece is on museum quality archival gessobord, so framing is optional.
The day I walked into my first painting class changed the way I see the world. I love to study the shapes, colors, and light around me. I am a diligent student constantly trying to expand my understanding of different techniques in oil and watercolor. I often set up lessons for myself and don’t move for hours once I get started on a piece. Painting is my reward.
