Ready to Hang
This painting is based on an old photo from the 1930's. Just post depression era of a farmer on his porch in the Mid-West. I created a theme of putting his younger persona in the reflection. There is some texture added near his face and head with some layers of medium with a palette knife. The color palette is an almost Monochrome feel just simple cool colors. Sides painted black and ready to hang.
My name is Paul Piasecki. I am a Vango artist. My roots have always been art and photography. I'm a graduate from the School of Visual Arts in New York City with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree. It was from these early experiences that I honed my craft as a cinematographer for more the 20 years. I'm a self taught artist and I've been selling artwork online and in local galleries for many years. My work has taken me all over country and Caribbean. Originally from a small New England town on Cape Cod, I grew up with a landscape of quaint villages, beaches and the ocean. This environment inspired one of my favorite artist, part-time resident, Edward Hopper. I like giving things the, "lived in" look in most of my work. I love going into my own world and getting lost in the painting.
