On a lot of occasions I will pull over to the side of a road and get a picture for inspiration to paint. When I get inspired by something I have to get it out, I have to create. I see the world differently than most being that I use my eye for a living and transcend it to my work from behind the lens or on a canvas. I have an impressionistic style, I try to stay loose. I approach lighting in a painting like I do on the small screen. Find a key light source of light and manipulate it to create textures and shadow. Just like cinematography, I'm always learning new ways to push my art to a new level. For more info visit paulpiasecki.com
My name is Paul Piasecki. I am a Vango artist. My roots have always been art and photography. I'm a graduate from the School of Visual Arts in New York City with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree. It was from these early experiences that I honed my craft as a cinematographer for more the 20 years. I'm a self taught artist and I've been selling artwork online and in local galleries for many years.
My work has taken me all over country and Caribbean. Originally from a small New England town on Cape Cod, I grew up with a landscape of quaint villages, beaches and the ocean. This environment inspired one of my favorite artist, part-time resident, Edward Hopper. I like giving things the, "lived in" look in most of my work. I love going into my own world and getting lost in the painting.
