The title of this piece is " Tsunami ".
I created this piece in 2007 using water color, and prisma pens. I used heavy color and light water for a bolder and brighter look.
My inspiration in creating this piece stems from my love of 16th century Japanese traditional art, combined with a neo traditional tattoo art style.
On a side note this was one of my last pieces created under my tattoo artist handle " Von doom". I have since parted with that name which also makes this piece special to me.
My name is Patrick Reilly. I work as a tattoo artist by trade. I have been working as such since 2001. I reside in Las Vegas Nevada and have been painting my whole life. I love oils, and water color. I also enjoy mixing in some prisma markers and pencils here and there. I love playing with different color pallets and using mono chromatic fades to show depth and emotion in my work. I have also used tattoo ink on canvas to compliment the texture of the oil and acrylics. I use all the traditional tools and some not so much as I like to use makeup brushes to add a softening effect to ad a touch of realism, or many other subtle variations in the colors melodic tones.. A lot of my works take several weeks to complete because of the drying time, and the layering of oils before I can seal the final product. I thank you for looking at my work.
