Curator's Note: This is a photorealistic piece, as the artist creates a hyper realistic looking image with oil and prisma color pencil.
The reason I chose the title for this piece is clear.
I created this piece over the course of several weeks in the fall of 2009
My inspiration in creating this piece was drawn from the desire to create something that would evoke a sensual emotion from the viewer. After viewing a simple makeup ad in a magazine, I was moved to see if I could create a work that would amplify the feeling I felt.
This piece was done with oils over several layers. I used many flesh tones and used makeup brushes to soften and push the medium across the canvas. I also used prisma pencil for some added detail and texture.
My name is Patrick Reilly. I work as a tattoo artist by trade. I have been working as such since 2001. I reside in Las Vegas Nevada and have been painting my whole life. I love oils, and water color. I also enjoy mixing in some prisma markers and pencils here and there. I love playing with different color pallets and using mono chromatic fades to show depth and emotion in my work. I have also used tattoo ink on canvas to compliment the texture of the oil and acrylics. I use all the traditional tools and some not so much as I like to use makeup brushes to add a softening effect to ad a touch of realism, or many other subtle variations in the colors melodic tones.. A lot of my works take several weeks to complete because of the drying time, and the layering of oils before I can seal the final product. I thank you for looking at my work.
