Ready to Hang
My husband named these pieces. He loves the quantum physics world and thought these look like neutrino blossoms. I added "party". Thus the title emerged.
This is a group of three 16 inch square panels. I like them with a few inches in between. They could be hung horizontally or vertically. Would sell them individually at $500 each panel.
Working with acrylic paint, specialty papers and textured surfaces, I delight in creating works to engage the viewer and share my artistic experience.
As a contemporary abstract artist, I am interested both in the outer experience of materials - paint, paper and texture, and, at the same time, in the inner experience of inspiration and guidance.
I first select a surface. From there I texture a background and begin adding elements of paint, paper, metallics. As I move from stage to stage I am allowing the existing work to inform the next step.
The real challenge and fun begins as I experiment with cut shapes, colors, patterns and opacity – observing how they harmonize and enliven the work. Throughout, I am experiencing the work as it evolves.
When I have created a joyfulness and vibrancy in the work, I know I have created an experience I wish to share.
Mixed media and acrylic artist, Patricia Forbes, currently resides and works in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Until the start of the new millennium, she lived and worked in Reston, Virginia. She graduated from Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia with a BA in Art. A significant college event was creating her own junior year studying art in Paris where she discovered her fondness for abstract art. In the seventies, she studied photography, and this led to launching a business representing exceptional corporate photographers in the Washington, DC market. When her daughter had finished college and had started her own business, Patricia returned to her love of painting. Some highlights include being selected as Best Local Artist for the ALBUQUERQUE THE MAGAZINE in 2007. She was featured on HGTV’s show, THAT’S CLEVER!, where artists demonstrate cool arts and crafts projects. She’s also a featured artist in Nancy Reyner’s book, ACRYLIC INNOVATION - STYLES & TECHNIQUES FEATURING 64 VISIONARY ARTISTS. And this past year her work entitled “Tangerine Dreams and Marmalade Skies” was purchased by the City of Albuquerque’s Public Art Program for the newly renovated Convention Center. Currently she’s represented in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by Patrician Design.
