The reason I chose the title for this piece is because it reminds me a magical place like wonderland.
I created this piece in summer 2014, it was a rainy day (not usual for my hometown).
My inspiration in creating this piece started while I was experimenting with gasoline, and I had my palette of colors that I wanted to use. I started throwing paint because my idea was something abstract, but then I saw the shape of a tree, and I couldn't resist.
The piece has hundreds of crystals beads, and then make it unique, shinny and magical.
I'm a self-taught Mixed Media artist born in McAllen, Texas. I was raised in Diaz Ordaz (Tamaulipas, Mexico). At the age of 15 I moved to Monterrey (Mexico) to continue my education, where I finished high school and later obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. I began my professional career as an economist working in privately owned financial institutions where I dedicated 8 years of my life. In 2011, I returned to McAllen to start a new life with my family, and I spent several months job hunting until a proposal position at a financial institution was offered to me. However, this involved doing the same thing that I had already done for 8 years in Monterrey, so I decided not to accept it. Using my small inventory of acrylic paintings and forty dollars from remaining budget I began painting. Now I have my studio at the McAllen Creative Incubator. This is my dream job, I paint having fun and listen music.
