With this piece, I wanted to contrast organic, human forms and geometrical forms. In doing so, I also wanted to create a visually multi-layered piece that would intrigue the viewer. I used various techniques such as using a spray bottle of matte medium mixed with water to drip acrylic paint down the canvas, as well as traditional acrylic painting techniques. For me, this piece brings to mind self reflection and its effect of expanding one's consciousness.
With the paintbrush in his hand, Noah DeWald aims to capture what it means to be human, as well as man's relationship with the natural world. To evoke these themes, he employs a wide variety of artistic techniques from detailed representations of organic figures to vivid abstraction.
