I have a teenager in the house and this painting came out off my own confusion, frustration, and desperation. As I was creating it, I thought to myself, "this is the true navigation through her mind and learning on how to deal with her..." Therefore, I felt using palette knife and being aggressive as I was experiencing my own emotions... The bolder darker alizarin crimson colors represent the low points when the brighter bolder more textural reds, blues and light warm yellows stand for hope. Somehow, the whole piece took shape of a landscape, and it could seem like a happy spring. You may view it either way, whatever feels right to YOU. The bright colors create powerful expression of my own turmoil...

I was raised in the cold climate of Leningrad, a former Soviet Union. I love snow, big cities, rain and city noises... I create my impressions of streets and people... I have lived in Vienna, Austria, Paris, Boston, and New York. Each painting is breathing the air of that city. I use primarily oil paint, brushes and a palette knife... The collection you are going to see here, are smaller pieces that are very affordable and also easy to frame. I will accommodate any requests in regards to sizes, themes, and shipping methods.
