I painted this live on May 11, 2017 in Vancouver, WA. The dove represents the Holy Spirit who is placing a crown on a cloaked figure. For those who believe in Jesus, the Lord wants to show them who they really are: sons and daughters of the King - Royalty. That is what the crown represents. The person is cloaked because they do not know who they really are. For all of creation is waiting for God to reveal to the world who His kids really are. And that day is today.
Nathan Rhoads is an artist working in Portland, Oregon. He earned his BFA in 1998 from Point Loma Nazarene University. His primary medium of choice is oil. Nathan's work ranges from abstract to representational. He is a live painter, creating beautiful works of art on the spot at events. He takes on a lot of commissioned projects too, and lately, has been painting beautiful pet portraits. The spirit realm is his muse. Most of his work deals with the spirit realm whether it be representational or abstract in nature. When not painting, he spends time with his 2 boys and dog exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. His favorite art quote is from Chuck Close: "Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work."
