This piece is all about exploring my subconious allowing myself to apply the paint without thinking. As the painting develops my thought process becomes focused on colour, contrast and composition giving them all a nice balance throughout. This is a long and difficult process, often extremely frustrating but oh so very rewarding when things begin to work. I have applied and removed huge amounts of paint most of it ending up on me! The painting tells a story of the battles I have gone through to completing this artwork, much like the battles we all go through in our lives.
My love and passion for painting has been with me since a young child. the welsh land and sea has been a great influence in my work and always will be. My paintings are oil and mixed media on canvas and range from the large 6ft x 6ft to the miniature 2 inch x 3 inch and everything in between. As an artist I continue to paint and hone my particular style, exhibiting and selling paintings in and around North Wales as well as the rest of the world. Even tho I base my work on places, ultimately they are created from my heart, soul and imagination. I create these paintings leaving them open for the viewer to see somthing personel in them. I dont want to paint copies of the world around me but instead I need to paint what my mind depicts of my surrounding environment. The style I paint is of my own and is fresh and exciting. I have studied at John Moors in Liverpool and achieved a 2.1 grade BA Hons.
