A nocturnal creature traverses the tree tops beneath a full moon in search of its prey. The title is also an homage to one of my favorite and most influential bands, not only to my previous foray into music but also to my art, The Gathering.
This painting is not framed but the sides of the canvas are painted so a frame is not required (I personally prefer them that way). It can simply be hung on the wall as is with a small trim nail. It is coated with a gloss finish varnish. This painting was completed on February 4, 2014.
You know those little sketches that people create mindlessly during boring meetings? I paint those. Just like you see kittens in clouds or Elvis in a potato chip, I see images in my doodles. It's called pareidolia (that's your word of the day). I find it quite interesting how a random collection of lines can turn into a petrified cowboy, ie. Eternal Sunset. So I tend to work on the abstract and surreal spectrum of painting since doodles are rarely realistic. Like pretty much every artist ever, I've had a passion for art ever since I can remember. But rather than go to art school I became a mechanical engineer since it promised a much more stable economic future. And it did just that while at the same time allowing me to pursue painting. In between paintings I spend my time reading art books and blogs, watching Youtube videos, and watching reruns of Bob Ross to grow my artistic talents.
