Ready to Hang

The piece was inspired by the Leda and the Swan story. In this though, the Swan is the peacock which is also representative of the male. The peacock has stolen the key to her heart and the woman has stolen the feathers of the bird to represent the exchange of feelings, emotions and the bits of self that happens in a relationship between two people.

I created this piece in 2013.

Its framed in a vintage, golden, oval carved wood frame like seen in many of the Victorian homes of the that age.
