I saw this beautiful view on a hike in the Texas hill country, and couldn't pass up the opportunity to paint it. It helped remind me of how diverse the landscape is in the state I now call my home.
Natalie grew up in Washington, D.C., where her passion for art developed at an early age. She comes from several generations of outstanding artists on both sides of her family. She grew up drawing with her mom every day and always said she wanted to be an artist when she grew up. In high school she began to study art more in depth, and focused mostly on charcoal figure and portrait studies. She won several art awards through her high school. For college, Natalie moved to Fort Worth, Texas, to attend TCU. She majored in child development and minored in studio art. She spent a semester abroad in Florence, Italy, specifically to study painting and drawing in one of the art capitals of the world. After college, she went on to work in the field of child development, got married, and had her first child, Wyatt. She felt called to start painting as a career, and has never looked back. Her favorite subject is painting people; She mainly paints commissioned portraits, but also does side projects when time allows.
