The drama of these greenhouses was captured at night in this intimate oil painting. Even though all seems quiet, the plants were busy growing and the scene was directly across from the art building where I taught drawing.
Alas- now this is the site of a huge new football stadium being built.
Comes with a simple black wooden strip frame.
Nanci has lived in California, Oregon, Maine, Iowa, Washington, Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, finally settling in Colorado. Most of those moves were for grad school or teaching jobs, and each place left an imprint of its own particular visual qualities. She taught all levels of painting and drawing at University of Iowa, Morehead State, the College of William and Mary and Colorado State University. She has been awarded two Colorado state arts council fellowships, numerous merit awards and exhibited work nationally for over 25 years.
