This painting is from a series based on the remnants left when narcissus bulbs have finished blooming. I was intrigued by how they looked when tied together, and the way the leaves danced in the space.
Nanci has lived in California, Oregon, Maine, Iowa, Washington, Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, finally settling in Colorado. Most of those moves were for grad school or teaching jobs, and each place left an imprint of its own particular visual qualities. She taught all levels of painting and drawing at University of Iowa, Morehead State, the College of William and Mary and Colorado State University. She has been awarded two Colorado state arts council fellowships, numerous merit awards and exhibited work nationally for over 25 years.
