When I used to teach drawing, I took my class outside to an arboretum near the art building- I often drew along with them, and this was one result.
This scene is reminiscent of the Italian landscapes I loved, and the trees became rather animated since my drawing style is often very gestural.
I like the way the pale yellow of the pastel stand out against the grey green of the paper.
