I didn't expect this piece to be much, but in truth I love it purely based off of the way it came about. I had a small but blank canvas to fill and I just simply slathered paint on and waited for an image to form onto itself. The first thing to develop in my mind was the abstract form of a man in a very large raincoat. So from there I created a scene befitting the gentleman and his very large raincoat.
As most introductions begin, I'll start with my name. I am Leimomi (hence where Momi stems from). I am the fourth generation and first born to receive that as my given Hawaiian name. Although I am an artist based out of Northern Colorado, my years spent living abroad the country has contributed to much of who I am today. Each place I've lived has truly taken a part of me and me of it. I have been painting for over four years now. Throughout that time my relationship with Art has been a fickle one. Only recently though have I discovered painting in such a way that reflects myself in my work. Believe it or not, it's not as easily said then done.
