This reduction linocut piece was created as part of a series based on a California road trip. It focuses on the sensation of a road trip, the blur of scenery passing by and the narrative aspect of the landscapes flipping past like a film reel. The reduction linocut process involves gauging into a block of linoleum, inking the block and then printing the relief on paper. After printing one color, the process is repeated on the same block, thus destroying the block as one prints and rendering it impossible to create any more than the initial edition of prints. I choose to work with this process because it allows me to engage in these moments I observed on the road through hands-on creative work.

Born in Vermont and now living on the west coast. I enjoy road tripping from Seattle to Los Angeles. I am a photographer and designer, and my prints are all based of photographs I take throughout my explorations.
