If you had told me when I was a kid that I would be capturing people's beloved family member pets using my art, I would have a laughed.

When I was around seven years old, a neighborhood child encouraged me to pet dog that was loose on our street. She was under the impression that this dog belonged to a fellow neighbor of ours. Unfortunately, it turned out to not be that dog, but a stray, who clamped down his teeth on my little hand. I still have the scars. So, needless to say, I became afraid of dogs.

Thankfully, years later my family adopted a scrappy little mix breed, named Barney. And my fear slowly faded away. In it's place grew a love for "mans best friend". Today, I have two dogs of my own, Biscuit (a Golden mix) and Cooper (a Chihuahua mix). They are forever by my side.

And I love all dogs, but there's something about the scrappy nature of the French Bulldog that entices me and elicits joy. That's where this painting was born. Fun. Playful. Bright-eyed. I hope it brings you joy as well.

Whether it’s pet portraits, yoga art, pop culture art or original paintings, Mike Brennan creates art that connects with the heart around shared experiences. His works includes media such as digital art, watercolor, acrylic and mixed media. After a ten year absence, Mike returned to his art in what can be considered a creative comeback. It was through this process that Mike discovered his voice and style. He not only seeks to use his art to bring joy and build bridges, but he also looks to be a voice encouraging those struggling in their own creativity. At the center of it all is a desire to create engaging visuals and ideas that bring value to people, and glory to his Creator.
