A work that contrasts layered thin paint and accumulated thick paint. The shapes form an abstracted map of Hawaii.
Early in my education, I discovered the dual passions that still animate my life, science and art. The reality of professional specialization drove me ultimately towards art, but my passion for science still influences my artistic direction. I arrived in New York city to earn my BFA at School of Visual Arts and soon made Brooklyn my home. The necessity to work has led me to manage an established artist’s studio and work a number of freelance jobs that include fabrication and installation of commercial displays. Participating and volunteering with arts non-profits in Brooklyn adds to the complementary set of experiences that define me.
