This watercolor painting is part of my Directional Pruning Series which speaks to the ways in which humans alter the natural world to fit us. Directional pruning is the technique used to cut out parts of a tree so that objects like power lines can be put up without cutting the tree down. This beautiful tree is located on Main Street in Old Wethersfield, CT.

I am primarily a watercolor artist working with nature as my subject matter and inspiration. Most of my watercolor work is very large, measuring up to 110" x 43", but I also make smaller pieces that you will see on Vango. I am also a college professor teaching watercolor, oils, drawing, and art history! More of my work can be seen at michellepodgorski Follow me on Instagram and Twitter: @mpodgorskiart
