Five represents a period in my life that I needed to go back and revisit as an adult. During the creation of this piece I was seeking guidance and studying personal development for my life. I had to travel back to the age of 5 in meditation to release energy blocks to free myself for a greater future. While visiting my life at this time I found hidden pain, but I was able to also experience freedom, a carefree attitude, and my favorite color pink. Five now represents a childlike behavior with innocence, freedom and fun.

I paint large acrylic paintings in an abstract expressionistic style. As a self-taught artist, I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. As far back as I can remember, I demonstrated a love for art, experimenting as a young child with clay and watercolors, eventually settling on acrylic as my medium of choice. My work is heavily textured as I favor a strong impasto technique to help my paintings come to life. I find the painting process mysterious as I tend to get lost in the rich colors, using them to evoke emotions in the work of art. I enjoy using various acrylic mediums and gels to create surfaces that are rich in texture. The complete cycle of creating for me is a process of releasing to share, so that others may interpret the work as they choose. My paintings are the products of much contemplation, drawing on emotions that are then transferred on to the blank canvas to form a work of art that is direct interpretation of my inward temperament.
