I have been drawing literally my entire life. I have been commissioned throughout the years to create portraits, illustrations and architectural renderings. My works are composed in various combined medias which usually include pastels, colored pencil and acrylics. I choose which media to use depending on the feel I believe is necessary to convey the overall mood of that particular piece.
First and foremost, I am an artist, no matter how hard I have tried to fight it. I see everything, including thoughts, in three-dimension and in full color. Whenever I have a conversation, I automatically illustrate a vision in my mind. For many years I had produced a comic strip that allowed me an outlet for some illustration of thoughts. I finally decided that my illustration ability would be best served by creating by creating images that could soothe the mind and soul. My works are a combination of the realistic, surrealistic, and a sense of childlike wonder. This is my world that has been created by a lifetime of various disorders. I have learned to embrace what might be called a disability by turning its pain into a source of creative inspiration. I truly believe that an artist must suffer to be able to visualize peace.
