Ready to Hang
I rarely have a plan when I start an abstract piece of artwork. I begin with a few colors and let the piece create itself from there. This has always been one of my favorites and since I created "Organic Blue" it has been hanging in my home. After a recent move, I no longer have a nice place for this one so it is looking for a new home. Some viewers believe it feels like an underwater scene while others see a floral abstract. What do you see?
At 40 x 30, it is one of my larger pieces, painted in acrylic and makes use of impasto (reds) and sgraffito techniques. It is finished in a heavy gloss varnish. It is on stretched, gallery wrapped, 3/4" deep canvas with painted sides, ready to hang.
Creativity broadens our horizons and gives us an opportunity to really get to know ourselves. I love to be creative! I've spent many years painting wall art, floor art, miniature art and sculpture. I'm particularly drawn to organic forms and materials and abstract styles. I love the bold use of color and experimenting with many different mediums and techniques. I've sold many pieces through the years in local retail shops as well as through online venues. My real name is Lori Wainwright but I have always used the moniker “Merry Seeker” for my creative endeavors. I am happiest when I am creating and always seek to express that happiness through my creativity, thus I am “Merry Seeker”.
