Ready to Hang
Year Created: 2015
This is a moody, layered landscape with layers of burnt orange and yellow, muted pale pink, and a rich reddish brown. In some of the lighter areas you can see some of the natural wood grain coming through (One of the many reasons I love painting on wood). This piece is from a series of landscapes that I'm currently working on to represent the haziness of memory, the mysterious recalling of a place.
The sides have been painted dark to match the painting and it will come wired and ready for hanging. It is signed by me (the artist) on the bottom right.
I have coated the piece with a protective finish to shield from sun and yellowing. Signed certificate of authenticity included.
Curator's Note: Light pastels and earthy dark tones intermingle, appearing almost as a dream-like landscape.
I am a Houston, TX based artist. My paintings revolve around themes of the mind and body, plants/nature, and expressive abstraction. I am always trying out new mediums but I mostly use oil paint, watercolors, gouache, and alcohol ink. I received my Bachelors degrees in both Painting and Photography in May 2010, and I completed my Masters in Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute in May 2012. Creating is a necessity for me, and I don't know who I would be without it. I crave that artistic release. I love connecting with people through my art, because each piece I create is a little part of me. I hope you like what you see, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!
