This is an original oil painting on a heavy weight, acid free watercolor paper. It has been mounted on sealed hardboard and all precautions have been taken to ensure that it is 100% archival. It is signed by me (the artist) in the bottom right corner.

It is in a nice wooden silver and black open frame. (oil paintings need to breathe so they don't require glass)

The intimate experience of being alone is something I have been interested in for quite some time. It is something that is familiar to all of us, yet uncomfortable for some. My work is focused on exposing this shared experience on a universal level. I paint intimate moments. Moments that might seem mundane or insignificant, but that I find to be the true essence of our existence. I paint both entwined couples and solo figures in emotionally captivating positions. My loose, expressive painting style is meant to further illustrate the intangible yet complex emotions that we experience as individuals. I create layers of oil paint to mask or encroach upon the subjects, creating an ambiguous reality. I like the idea of a color representing someone being enveloped by the space they are in, so that is what a lot of my paintings are dealing with: the weight of space

I am a Houston, TX based artist. My paintings revolve around themes of the mind and body, plants/nature, and expressive abstraction. I am always trying out new mediums but I mostly use oil paint, watercolors, gouache, and alcohol ink. I received my Bachelors degrees in both Painting and Photography in May 2010, and I completed my Masters in Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute in May 2012. Creating is a necessity for me, and I don't know who I would be without it. I crave that artistic release. I love connecting with people through my art, because each piece I create is a little part of me. I hope you like what you see, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!
