Ready to Hang
The inspiration for this piece was from a photograph that I took of a dear friend of mine while we were roommates in college a few years ago. For me, this piece speaks to being in transition. That in between, abstract place when you are leaving one phase of your life and entering another. This transition can take place emotionally, physically or both. We all experience this differently, but my intention was for this piece to connect with individual experiences.
This is an original oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas. The sides have been painted to match the background so it is ready to hang (no need for a frame). Also, the back of the painting is already wired for easy hanging.
I am a Houston, TX based artist. My paintings revolve around themes of the mind and body, plants/nature, and expressive abstraction. I am always trying out new mediums but I mostly use oil paint, watercolors, gouache, and alcohol ink. I received my Bachelors degrees in both Painting and Photography in May 2010, and I completed my Masters in Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute in May 2012. Creating is a necessity for me, and I don't know who I would be without it. I crave that artistic release. I love connecting with people through my art, because each piece I create is a little part of me. I hope you like what you see, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!
