FRAME INCLUDED. This 8"x10" artwork was created with Academy acrylic paints on a pine framed, stretched canvas. I paint the sides of all my canvases (gallery wrapped) so they can be hung with or without a frame. This piece is initialed on the front with the title, year of completion (2015), and my signature on the back. Also included is a certificate of authenticity. FRAME: Made of solid wood, the Blick Floater Frame is so named because artwork "floats" in the frame instead of being covered by it. Hand-painted silver crackle. 2" depth. Wire hanger.
Melissa Mickelson is most known for her acrylic paintings of North American freshwater fish. Playing with underwater topography and light, Melissa’s paintings capture a usually unseen world. An avid fisherman, she bases her subjects off of photographs she’s taken at various lakes across the state of Minnesota, focusing on the detail and movement of the fish. She conveys a sense that the fish can be grabbed right out of the painting, a moment frozen in time, usually including one of her favorite lures and a fish about to strike.
