The source material for this painting was from my sister's house in Yarrambat, Victoria, Australia, which I visited in 2011. She had a beautiful hedge of white roses that sparkled in the bright sunshine of an Australian autumn.

My name is Melanie Harman. I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. Painting allows me to pause and reflect on my journey through life. I am able to better appreciate the colors and beauty of the natural world and connect with it on a deeper level. Watercolor is my choice of medium; the wet-in-wet interaction of colors is fascinating and stimulating in all of its permutations. I am originally from England and moved to Phoenix in 1987 and have since become a US citizen. I live in a split-level house with my husband and two cats. We are active and like to ski, hike and backpack.
