An impressionistic still life in which the method of application is a palette knife which produces the bold Van Gogh-esque strokes.

Matthew David Fritz is a visual artist who works and lives in Centerville, Ohio, USA. In 1996 he studied and earned his Bachelor of Art from Wright State University. He has worked in and exhibited works in several mediums including painting, printmaking, photography, charcoal, and even has exhibited large scale installation art. His most recent works of black and white woodcut prints combine his familiarity with wood carving (he is a custom woodworker and furniture maker by trade) with his artistic vision and creativity. His paintings are characteristically impressionistic and chromatically bold. Aside from being a visual artist and craftsman, Matthew is also a recording artist who is proficient in piano, guitar, bass, and mandolin. As a folk singer/songwriter, he regularly composes, produces, and sells his record albums which are performed with his wife, Leslie, who sings with him on the recordings.
