This was an exercise in fall colors and trees, my grandmothers lake cabin in Montana was my inspiration.
Retired after 30 years working in the aerospace industry as a software engineer. Art and music were always some magical, mysterious things that I never thought I could ever do or had any aptitude for, but after escaping the corporate tech world, I decided to take an art class, just to see what it was all about. It was scary, but I found there were skills, and techniques that could be learned, and surprisingly I found there were some similarities between art and engineering, and it was fun exercising a different side of my brain, but still allowing the other side to help out when needed! Its been fun, I'm still a beginner, but I've made some things I didn't hate, my teachers and classmates have encouraged and inspired me, and a friend of mine gave me a huge compliment when she looked as some of my work and said, "These don't suck"! I grew up in the mountains of western Montana, with a very rural, farming, ranching, and logging background, my eye and palette tend towards outdoorsy, trees, mountains, snow, and landsapes, and the greens, grays, and browns; but I'm trying to push my horizons and expand my palette more flowers and the vibrant color and energy they bring.
