This piece is a fantastic example of Richter's technique. Except that it's not just abstract. It's actually based on a photo of a girl on the beach in a lounge chair. That explains the color scheme with the various blues from the sky and water, the splash of yellow from the sand, and the green umbrella and black lounge chair. And, this one is big, and would be great to hang in an open space with high ceilings.
I'm a San Francisco, CA based artist and typically focus on doing large scale abstract art. I've been fortunate to have had a number of shows in the past year, including one at Sotheby's, and I'm very happy to be supporting my friend Ethan from UVA as he launches this great company, which fulfills a definite need in the marketplace for artists.
